Regent Square

The 24 acre Regent Square community is a redevelopment of the Allen House Apartments located along W Dallas between Shepherd and Waugh that combines a rich blend of residential, office, retail, restaurant, and entertainment uses. The development celebrates pedestrian access and features an array of new streets and boulevards, tree lined sidewalks and promenades, intimate courtyards, and signature parks.

Ten of the world’s preeminent architects have combined traditional architectural styles with elements of modern design to create more than 30 distinct buildings and world-class public spaces. At Regent Square, classical and contemporary harmonize to produce an array of architectural statements and authentic human experiences. The project will pulse with energy day and night as residents, office workers, shoppers, diners, and visitors experience the best of city life in an irresistibly walkable neighborhood. As Houston’s largest sustainable development, Regent Square also demonstrates a commitment to principles of Smart Growth, New Urbanism, and Green Building.

Knudson prepared and submitted the subdivision plat which included a public hearing and four (4) different types of variances including building line, reserve frontage, visibility triangles, and right-of-way widths. In addition to subdivision platting, Knudson facilitated the abandonment process for easements throughout the development with the support of the project’s civil engineer and surveyor, provided logistics and facilitated the public outreach process and meetings with City of Houston elected and appointed officials, a public private partnership with the City of Houston, and supported the project team through the permitting process.
