Buckboard Park is located on five acres in the Greenspoint area of Houston. Its completion in 2009 transformed an asphalt parking lot and overgrown parcel of land into a neighborhood park for all ages. Park amenities include a walking trail, play structures, picnic and seating areas, butterfly gardens, and the work of local artists that is both visually and physically stimulating. Artwork includes a giant 40-foot long mosaic caterpillar play structure, an ornamental steel piñata pavilion, and small steel birds and butterflies located along the walking trail. The artwork, combined with educational signage and specially selected play equipment make this park a wonderful outdoor classroom for the nearby Kenneth D. Black Elementary school.
