Low Impact Development and Bioswales

Low-Impact Development (LID) is a set of comprehensive planning, landscape architecture, and engineering design standards that all come together to make the best use of the existing drainage and stormwater capabilities of a given parcel or project.

As cities expand, stormwater management will become an increasingly vital aspect to roadway and community design. Bioswales are drainage features that are designed to both filter and retain stormwater after a rain event. This is accomplished by incorporating native vegetation, rock and other filtering media at the base of an existing or new swale.

Knudson has experience in LID from site design to landscape architecture. Let us help you make the most of your property in balance with the environment.
